The Case Study Cup is an opportunity for teams of 1–3 students, supported by one faculty advisor, to analyze a hypothetical sport law scenario and present their recommendations. This competition helps students build skills in legal reasoning, public speaking, and professional communication.
Teams will have 15 minutes to deliver a PowerPoint or similar visual presentation, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the judges. Presentations may be delivered in person at the conference or virtually via Zoom, and faculty advisors do not need to attend the competition.
Judges will score presentations using a rubric evaluating advocacy, presentation quality, and persuasiveness. This is an excellent experience for both graduate students interested in sports law. For questions about competing, please contact ce-damme@wiu.edu.
